What is SAY / SAY LA?
What is Say?
Say is dedicated to blurting things out, without worrying over whether these opinions, reflections, or reactions are polished enough to be "worthy" of presentation. Writers, artists, and thinkers can spend their whole lives polishing and perfecting their vision, never feeling it is ready to be shared.
The goal of Say, therefore, is to say as much as possible about as wide a range of things as possible, in as short an amount of time as is possible to get the main idea across. The main focus here is on art and culture. However, as politics are a reflection of culture, you can expect to get a healthy dose of politics, too. Look, basically everything is culture, right? Go ask an anthropologist. Even science is an aspect of human culture. So no topic is really off limits for Say. If we have something to say, we're going to say it.
Who is Say?
We are a team of writers, designers and artists living in the greater Los Angeles area. Say's executive curator is Brian D. Kay.
Say LA
Whereas Say might deal with any manifestation of culture, past or present, Say LA is dedicated specifically to reviews –– reviews of, well, anything. Restaurants, concerts, art gallery openings, films, protests and political happenings –– basically, anything that transpires in or around LA.
